CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Thursday, June 3rd

Happy Thursday! We’ve got an eight-game main slate with a couple aces and a well spread out group of offenses. We also have an early 3-4 gamer depending on which site you’re playing. I’m going to start by talking briefly about the early slate, and then I’ll be back in a few hours with the main slate breakdown. I won’t be quite as early in getting that out today, but it will be up by 2pm ET.

Early Slate Overview

The early slate on DK is as lopsided as it gets, with one clear ace pitcher in Gerrit Cole and one clear top spot for offense in Coors Field. What I’m going to say here is that the gap between Cole and the other pitchers looks bigger than the gap between offenses. If you can only prioritize one or the other based on either salary or ownership, I would much prefer to play Cole and do something different with the bats. I’m writing this early in the morning, and there is some discrepancy with the starters for Atlanta and Colorado. I’m assuming we see Tucker Davidson and Austin Gomber, though Bryse Wilson and Jon Gray are possibilities.

As far as the choices for an SP2, this is what we’ve got:

Jake Odorizzi vs Boston
Patrick Corbin at Atlanta
Austin Gomber (Jon Gray) vs Texas
Ryan Yarbrough at NY Yankees
Mike Foltynewicz at Colorado
Tucker Davidson (Bryse Wilson) vs Washington
Martin Perez at Houston
