CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Thursday, May 6th

Happy Thursday! We’ve got an early day with an 8-game main slate starting at 1:05pm ET. I’m going to refrain from too much Tom Foolery so I can get this out early enough to be useful. We’ll also have an early Crunchtime at 12:30 ET, where I will go over any final thoughts and take questions on this slate.

Thursday Pitching

This is a good pitching slate, headlined by Gerrit Cole in a tough matchup against Houston. I’ve separated the 11 pitchers that I might consider into two groups. Because of matchups or current form or injuries, some of the pitchers in the second tier are every bit as talented as what we have in the top tier, so you may come to a different conclusion on how to separate these guys. This is the group of pitchers I’m looking at:

Aces and Good Pitchers In Good Matchups

Gerrit Cole vs Houston
Brandon Woodruff at Philadelphia
Zack Wheeler vs Milwaukee
Nathan Eovaldi vs Detroit
Michael Pineda vs Texas

Solid Pitchers With Some Question Marks

Danny Duffy vs Cleveland
Lance McCullers at NY Yankees
Drew Smyly at Washington
Hyun-Jin Ryu at Oakland
Taijuan Walker at St. Louis
Triston McKenzie at Kansas City
