CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Tuesday, July 20th
Happy Tuesday! After an absolutely wild Monday of huge scores, we’re coming right back with a 13-game slate featuring more high upside offense. The pitching is sparse once again, but hopefully we can narrow it down a little more than yesterday. And away we go…
Tuesday Night Pitching
There is not much to see out here tonight. We’re going to have to keep an eye on the weather in Atlanta again tonight, but at this point, I’m going to assume they play, which leaves us with two aces up top and then a second tier that could be chopped up a lot of different ways.
TWO ACES

Aaron Nola at Yankees
Yu Darvish at Braves
For the season, both Nola and Darvish are sitting at 29-30% K with walks under 6%. Neither one has seen much change in their numbers since the start of June, maintaining the 30% strikeout level with strong control and 14% swinging strikes on top of it. I have zero concerns about the skills for either of these pitchers, but both do come with a bit more question mark than usual. Nola hasn’t pitched since July 6th, missing a start in covid protocols, while Darvish hasn’t pitched since he was pulled early on July 8th with hip and back tightness. There is no sign that either one of these aces will be limited or less than full strength tonight, but it does make me a little less sold on going all-in on these guys.
