CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Wednesday, August 18th

Happy Wednesday! I already cannot stop laughing today when I see that the San Diego Padres, a team that is fighting for their playoff lives, are so short on pitchers that they are using Cubs castoffs to start in Coors Field. The Cubs saw his 6.88 ERA and thought, this guy doesn’t belong here. I am actually very much rooting for Jake Arrieta to have a magical turnaround and put up some useful starts down the stretch, but it’s funny.

The Padres-Rockies high total game is on the early 5-game slate on DK that I’ll touch on very briefly. I’ll be focusing on the 10-game main slate that starts at the usual 7:05 pm ET.

Early Slate Cliff Notes

DraftKings is running a 5-game early slate that is as simple to breakdown as anything we’ve seen in a long time. However, sometimes, the easier it is to figure out the best plays on a small slate, the harder it is to play DFS. The reason is that everyone knows who those best plays are. You have two basic options here – play good lineups that are likely to score a lot of points, but also likely to be extremely popular, or play a bad lineup that isn’t likely to score a lot of points, but at least it’ll be different.
