CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Wednesday, August 4th

Happy Wednesday! We’ve got another big slate tonight with 11 games including more Coors Field, and the debut of Max Scherzer in a Dodgers uniform. I’m going to start with a very brief cliff notes look at the early 4-game slate on DK, but it’s very straightforward and I’m going to spend my time on the main slate.

Early Slate Cliff Notes

There is a 4-game early slate on DK that is pitching heavy with some very clear chalk on the hitting side. I don’t see much case to get away from bats for the Reds and Brewers as the obvious top plays. There are six good pitchers on the slate, with Freddy Peralta being the top choice for me. It’s very tight after that, and even if only making a few lineups, I’d be spreading out at SP2. I’m still fully on board with how Frankie Montas is pitching, and I favor him ahead of Joe Musgrove in that Padres-A’s matchup. However, if salary is no object, I’d still prefer to pair Luis Castillo with Peralta up top. I have a slight lean to Logan Gilbert over Josh Fleming in the Rays-Mariners game, but I really don’t have a lot of separation between any of Montas, Musgrove, Gilbert and Fleming.
