Ohio (27) vs Syracuse -1 (28)

Ohio

As usual, Ohio is going to do dumb things with their quarterbacks. As it stands, Kurtis Rourke was named as the starter, but Armani Rogers will come in and could steal critical red zone opportunities from Rourke. Vegas thinks this game is going to be pretty tight so we don’t want to completely discount using any of the Bobcats. I just don’t see how you can settle in on Rourke in your cash game lineups. Let’s focus on some skill positions. Demontre Tuggle is $6,400 on DraftKings. He was a second-team All-MAC performer as a running back and return man. The offensive line is solid and experienced. Tuggle faces a weak Syracuse run defense that allowed 209.1 YPG last season and a 4.56 YPC, yielding more than 2 rushing scores a game. He’s a fine play if you are wanting to get exposure to Ohio. I also think you won’t see as much of a share in this backfield as we’ve seen in recent years. However, if you are going with a singular lineup I don’t think you have to force it. Looking to the receivers, it’s not too pretty. Hooks and his big-play ability are gone. Their best and only relevant receiver who returns this season for the Bobcats is Isiah Cox at $5,400 on DraftKings. But you really can’t get too excited about him either. Cox only saw 9 targets in three games last year. He did have a sexy 20.3 yards per reception. In 2019 he had a 17.0 YPC and led the team in targets (62) and catches (39) and yards (663). He’s definitely the only guy, but what does that really mean? I’d reserve him for a multi-lineup GPP consideration.
