College Football DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Week 0

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

headChopper: After the bye week last season, Diego Pavia came back from two weeks rest and averaged 27.6 DraftKings points per game over the last six games. This even takes into account an awful game against a Power 5 school at Missouri. He had games of 300+ yards passing and other games of 100+ yards rushing, putting a double bonus in play.

darddog: USC is heads-and-tails the best team on the slate. The problem? Their production is so spread out. There will likely be a time-share at running back and upwards of 7-8 WRs that might get significant snaps. Throw in a 30-point spread, and you could have some players that see limited playing time at the skill positions. That’s why I like playing the lower-owned WRs to pair with Caleb Williams. You can definitely take some dart-throws at the backups too.

STLCardinals84: If you are shooting for some big GPP prize pools this weekend, the best way to get different will be with your exposure to the USC wide receivers. Caleb Williams is the clear QB1 on the slate, and someone in this receiving corps is going to have a big day. The problem is figuring out who that will be. This will create plenty of opportunities to be different in GPP builds. Dorian Singer and Brenden Rice project as the chalk, so give a look to Mario Williams as a pivot. He’s got plenty of talent of his own, and it’s only going to take one big play to make him the difference-maker. He is listed as the starter on the depth chart over Tahj Washington, though USC will use plenty of 4-WR sets and rotate players. Even Washington can be considered as a risk/reward option. A GPP could be won by how this group is handled.

kmurray03: Last year, LA Tech threw the ball 54% of the time despite a rotation of QBs seeing time. Parker McNeil was solid at times, but in comes Hank Bachmeier, who has transferred from Boise State after playing in just four games last season. In 2021, as a full-time starter, Bachmeier threw for over 3,000 yards and 20 TDs in 12 games. This is an improvement over last year’s QB play, and Bachmeier has a chance to see plenty of passing volume in this pass-happy LA Tech offense.
