A top-ranked college football DFS player going back to the Daily Joust and DraftStreet days, Andy Smith (a25smith) is here to walk you through the late Draftkings slate with a game-by-game preview.

We’re back for Week 11, and there are only a few more Saturday night slates to get into before Thanksgiving, conference championships, and bowl season. As far as this slate goes, the LSU / Florida game looks great for DFS, and the Ole Miss / Georgia game should be a great college football game with big SEC and playoff implications. I will note there are several injury situations to monitor on this slate, so it’s one where I would definitely recommend to be in the discord prior to lock.

Quarterback

Core Plays

Jayden Daniels, $10,300

Daniels left the Alabama game due to concussion protocols, but it sounds like he’s all set and ready to return this weekend. While everyone flocked to the USC / Washington game last Saturday (me included), Daniels and Jalen Milroe broke the slate last weekend, with Daniels doing it against a really good Alabama defense. Now he draws a Florida defense that has not been good and allowed a broken Arkansas offense to get back on track last weekend. Over their last three games against South Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas, Florida has allowed 39, 43, and 39 points, so it’s an elite spot for Daniels to put up another monster performance. He’s expensive, but he’s projecting for more than 8 points higher than the next QB. I’m looking to jam him in despite the high price tag.

Graham Mertz, $7,100

It’s weird writing up Mertz as a core play, but he’s been solid this year, and this LSU defense just continues to hemorrhage points. They’ve faced some awful offenses in Grambling, Miss. State, Auburn, and Army, but the other QBs in KJ Jefferson (who has really struggled this year), Jordan Travis, Jaxson Dart, Brady Cook, and Jalen Milroe have all had their way with this defense. I do not expect Florida to be able to slow down the elite LSU offense, which should lead to plenty of throwing from Mertz. Also, with the loss to Alabama last week, LSU is out of the SEC West chase, so this could be a letdown spot for the Tigers and an already bad defense.
