College Football News and Notes: Week 14

Quarterbacks

Player: Jared Goff/Zach Kline, QB, California

News: Goff was hurt during the Bears loss over the weekend, as he separated his throwing shoulder in the second quarter.
Impact: This does not have much fantasy impact this week as the Bears are finished for the 2013, finishing at 1-11, but remember both names for the fall of 2014 as now Goff will have to battle back from an injured shoulder.

Player: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

News: Mariota is going to suit up and will be ready to face Oregon State on Friday after overcoming an apparent concussion that he suffered in the Ducks loss to Arizona.
Impact: Now the talented QB is not only battling a knee injury but also a possible concussion. Regardless, play Mariota with confidence against a porous Beavers defense as a QB1.

Running Backs

Player: Damien Williams, RB, Oklahoma

News: Williams has been dismissed from the Sooners football team.
Impact: This comes one week after being suspended for the Kansas State game. Brennan Clay erupted for well over 100 yards and should remain the bell-cow in the Sooners backfield.

Player: Marion Grice/D.J. Foster, RB, Arizona State

News: The injury that Grice suffered in the Sun Devils last game has still not been revealed and he is day-to-day for ASU.
Impact: Considering it is crunch time, you cannot go into this weekends game without a sure thing. D.J. Foster would pick up the slack if Grice is out, but check in with gameday reports to see who is starting. If Grice is a go, avoid the situation as there is no clear determination how much he will play and what the injury is that is hampering him.

Player: Kapri Bibbs/Chris Nwoke/Donnell Alexander, RB, Colorado State

News: Bibbs, the possible 2013 fantasy MVP left practice Tuesday in a walking boot and is doubtful to play this weekend.
Impact: Both Nwoke and Alexander have been starters for the Rams during their careers, so they could easily pick up the slack. Play Nwoke if he is available.

Player: Byron Marshall, RB, Oregon

News: Marshall remains doubtful to have an impact this week against Oregon State as he is still in a walking boot.
Impact: Expect De’Anthony Thomas and Thomas Tyner to go off on the horrid Oregon State defense Friday night.

Player: T.J. Yeldon, RB, Alabama

News: Yeldon is a lock to play against Auburn after missing last weeks win over overmatched Chattanooga.
Impact: Yeldon is locked and loaded as a RB1. Play as you would normally.

Player: Lache Seastrunk, RB, Baylor

News: Seastrunk remains questionable to play for Baylor with a groin injury against TCU.
Impact: You simply cannot trust anyone in the Baylor backfield right now as Seastrunk and Glasco Martin are hurt, questionable to play, while Shock Linwood struggled last week against a solid Oklahoma State defense.

WR’s

Player: Odell Beckham, WR, LSU

News: Beckham is listed as questionable for this weeks game against Arkansas.
Impact: Beckham is a matchup nightmare for the Razorbacks and despite the questionable tag because of a back bruise, expect him to start and dominate.
