I love it when the sites all make their slates identical in terms of game sets offered. That’s what we have today on a full slate Saturday. There are two “very early” afternoon games that are being ignored by the sites, while there are six mid-afternoon games that make up the “early” slate. We have seven evening games on tap, which is more than we have had on a Saturday in a month. I love the six game early and seven game late slate split. It makes both slates large enough to where we will have diversity in roster construction, but it also makes both slates small enough to where they are not overwhelming.
While I like the way the slates are split today, I will admit that I am disappointed that the 2:20 PM start between the Twins and Cubs is not included in any main afternoon slate. I obviously understand the logic behind it, but it’s nearly 100 degrees in Chicago with the wind blowing out at Wrigley Field and two bad pitchers on the mound. Oh, what could have been! If you are playing an “all day” slate that is offered somewhere, don’t be afraid to load up on bats in that game even though the GPP contests are generally very small for those slates. Be careful doing that in cash games, though, as stacking in cash games isn’t really all that wise of a strategy. It will be fun to see how many runs are scored at Wrigley Field this afternoon, even though we can’t really attack it for DFS purposes.
