Daily Fantasy CFB News & Notes: Week 11

Player News

Quarterbacks

james franklin cfb 550x330

Player: Bryn Renner, QB, North Carolina
News: Renner will miss the rest of the season with a separated shoulder.
Impact: Marquise Williams is next in line for snaps and will be the starter. With plenty of other options out there, Williams should not be considered at this time for your QB slot unless you wish to roll the dice with a cheap option.

Player: James Franklin/Maty Mauk, QB, Missouri
News: There is no clear word as of Friday at 12pm who the starting QB is going to be going into the Tigers game Saturday against Kentucky.
Impact: When this news becomes available, start whomever is starting. Kentucky cannot defend dual threat quarterbacks and both Franklin and Mauk will excel, even on the road.

Player: Taylor Martinez/Tommy Armstrong, QB, Nebraska
News: Martinez will not play against Michigan on Saturday as he is still battling a hip and abdomen injury.
Impact: Armstrong will get another start for the Cornhuskers and you can certainly play him as a QB2 against a porous Wolverines defense that has certainly seen less talented teams run all over them this season.

Player: Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
News: Prescott is questionable to face Texas A&M this weekend following the death of his mother from cancer.
Impact: First our condolences to the Prescott family. The matchup is a juicy one against a terrible Aggies defense. Tyler Russell would start but not be a fantasy option if Prescott does not play. If he does, he is a sneaky BCS only QB2.

Updates

Player: Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
News/Impact: Prescott will indeed play for the Bulldogs just days after his mother passed away from cancer. Prescott is a solid QB2 option against a porous Texas A&M defense.

Running Backs

Player: Mark Weisman, RB, Iowa
News: Weisman left the Hawkeyes loss to Wisconsin early with an elbow injury after just 9 carries and is questionable to face Purdue.
Impact: Six different Hawkeyes received at least 4 carries after Weisman left the game, so there is no clear starter for their game against Purdue. Avoid this situation entirely.

Player: Duke Johnson/Dallas Crawford, RB, Miami
News: Johnson will miss the rest of the season after breaking his ankle. Crawford will assume lead back duties for the Hurricanes.
Impact: This is a massive blow for Johnson owners/users, but Crawford is a stud backup who was already a goal line vulture. Crawfords first test will be a tough one against Virginia Tech, but he is in line for some major performances down the stretch.

Player: Tra Carson, RB, Texas A&M
News: Carson is week to week after suffering a neck sprain in last weeks win against UTEP.
Impact: The Aggies backfield is often crowded so consider Carson off limits moving forward. Ben Malena continues to be the only reliable back on the team.

Player: Waymon James, RB, TCU
News: James has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.
Impact: B.J. Catalon will continue to serve as the TCU starter and likely be given the 6 carries James was getting this year. Neither is a fantasy asset at this point.

Player: Jordan James, RB, UCLA
News: James, who has been battling injuries all season, will miss Saturday’s game against Arizona with an ankle injury.
Impact: Paul Perkins will receive another start and is a solid bet to find the end zone against a porous Wildcats rush defense.

Wide Receivers

Player: Tony Jones, WR, Northwestern
News: Jones is battling a quad injury that he re-suffered in the Nebraska game and is likely going to keep him out until at least November 16th.
Impact: That coincides with a date with Michigan. This is a huge blow to the Northwestern offense and Kain Colter’s fantasy outlook even if he returns after their bye week.

Player: Jared Abbrederis, WR, Wisconsin
News: The talented wide receiver is questionable to play against BYU this weekend because of a rib injury.
Impact: This news makes Abbrederis virtually impossible to play because if he takes one shot to that area, he will likely come out. With no other talented wide receiver on their roster, look elsewhere to fill your WR2 spot.

Player: Michael Campanaro, WR, Wake Forest
News: One of the best production receivers in the country, Campanaro will likely miss the rest of the season as he broke his collarbone last weekend
Impact: Quite a blow for the Wake offense. Look elsewhere for consistent PPR production.

Player: Tevin Reese, WR, Baylor
News: Although Baylor played already this week it is worth noting that Reese will miss the rest of the regular season after dislocating his wrist Thursday.
Impact: Reese is one of the best deep threats in the country so this is a killer injury. Expect more targets for Antwan Goodley moving forward.
