Daily Fantasy CFB News & Notes: Week 12
CFB Player News
Quarterbacks

Player: Davis Webb/Baker Mayfield, QB, Texas Tech
News: After struggling early on against Kansas State, Webb was benched in favor of Mayfield in the Red Raiders blowout loss.
Impact: Yet again this situation is a mess. You cannot trust either player as it is not certain who will start or for that matter who will finish. The Baylor defense has proved to be solid, so neither QB should be considered playable this week.
Player: Taylor Martinez/Tommy Armstrong, QB, Nebraska
News: T-Magic’s season may be over as his foot injury may cause him to not be able to play for 6 to 8 months according to ESPN reports.
Impact: Armstrong has not put up huge numbers but in the right matchup, could excel. Expect more stat stuffing from Ameer Amdullah however.
Player: Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
News: It was announced midweek that Winston has a complaint out against him for sexual battery stemming from December 2012.
Impact: While this is troubling news, no charges have been filed. Play him as you normally would this week against Syracuse.
Player: Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
News: Prescott is questionable to face Alabama this weekend because of an elbow injury.
Impact: If you ever thought to play him against Alabama, please think again.
Running Backs
Player: Silas Redd, RB, USC
News: Redd is questionable to play for USC Saturday because of a knee injury.
Impact: The Trojans have a tough matchup against Stanford and with the breakout of Javorius Allen, Redd is surely not an option this week.
Player: Jordan Canzeri, RB, Iowa
News: Canzeri may well be the new lead back for the Hawkeyes after he topped 100 yards and a score against Purdue this past weekend.
Impact: Mark Weisman and Damon Bullock also played, but Canzeri got the majority of the work. Expect him to be the bell-cow for the Hawkeyes moving forward.
Player: Malcolm Brown/Johnathan Gray, RB, Texas
News: Gray will miss the rest of the season with an Achilles injury making Brown the full-time back.
Impact: Brown has been outplaying Gray the last few weeks anyway, but this should go a long way to a solid stretch run for him. He faces a tough Oklahoma State defense however this week, so he is a decent RB3/Flex play.
Player: Tevin Coleman, RB, Indiana
News: Coleman suffered an ankle injury after rushing for 200 yards last week and is likely to miss the Wisconsin game.
Impact: Most likely Coleman would be sat anyway against a tough Badgers defense. Keep Coleman in your thoughts for next week however and see if his injury is a long-term one.
Player: Paul James/Justin Goodwin, RB, Rutgers
News: James returned to practice during the Rutgers bye week, which may signal that he is ready to return to the lineup.
Impact: Goodwin has played very well for Rutgers so a time-share may be in the works. The best way to move forward is to avoid all backs until a clear starter is determined.
Player: Lache Seastrunk/Glasco Martin/Shock Linwood, RB, Baylor
News: Coach Art Briles said Seastrunk and Martin were “probable at best” to face Texas Tech this weekend, which could mean Shock Linwood will see an immense workload.
Impact: This is touchy situation, but if I were a betting man I would expect both top tailbacks to sit out and Linwood to run wild against the Red Raiders.
Wide Receivers
Player: Tevin Reese, WR, Baylor
News: As a reminder, Reese is out for the season for the Bears.
Impact: Reese is one of the best deep threats in the country so this is a killer injury. Expect more targets for Antwan Goodley moving forward. Also look for Levi Norwood to step up and receive some more targets. He scored last week after Reese left the game.
Player: Chris Conley, WR, Georgia
News: Conley is going to be a game-time decision to face Auburn this week as he battles an ankle injury.
Impact: A PPR receiver at best, Conley should not be played this week against the tough Tigers defense, regardless if he is healhy or not.
Player: Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami
News: Dorsett is doubtful to play against Duke this week because of a knee injury.
Impact: Dorsett is coming back from a partially torn MCL injury, so it may need more time. Expect the Canes to rely on Dallas Crawford to carry the load against the Blue Devils.
