Daily Fantasy Golf: Frys.com Open Picks & Projections
Now that’s a short offseason. Unlike the NFL, MLB, NBA, or NHL, the offseason for golf is only a couple of weeks which is great for anyone that plays fantasy golf. The downside to these fall tournaments is that most of the star players are in hibernation mode. Their offseason will last for quite a while. But there are still plenty of good player in this tournament so if you really know your golf, now is the time to take advantage.
We ended the season on a high not by picking the winner of the Tour Championship. If you took Henrik Stenson, you likely placed in most of your leagues because he was not very highly owned. We will look to continue that success this week, but there will be a little difference in the picks. Instead of giving you my entire roster, I’m just going to give you some of my favorite plays.

Frys.com Open Picks
1) Camilo Villegas: $15,356 – Villegas really ended last season on a high note, he made 10 of the last 11 cuts and while he isn’t a guy that is going to get many top 10 finishes, he could get one this week against the much weaker field. For his price, he’s my favorite play of the week.
2) Jason Kokrak: 17,397 – There are a few reasons to like Kokrak this week. He finished 2nd in this event last year and has 2 top 10 finishes in his last 8 events. He played great on this course last year and is one of the favorites to win it again this year. He is by far a better dollar for dollar value than the top guys like Woodland and Blixt.
3) David Hearn: $14,968 – Hearn is another guy that finished the season off hot by making 10 of the last 11 cuts including 4 top 25 finishes. In events like these, you want to take the guys that are playing well heading into the event and hope that they can continue their hot play.
4) Angel Cabrera: $15,975 – Cabrera is a guy that I find hard to trust. I’m not sure why, but I always seem to talk myself out of taking him each week. That will be hard to do this week at his price tag. Cabrera is one of the best players in this field and is close to a lock to make this cut.
5) Rory Sabbatini: $17,421 – I mentioned that I like taking players that are hot and Sabbatini finished off the season in a scorching manner. He finished with 6 top 20’s in his final 8 events. He is my dark horse pick to win this tournament.
