Recap of The McGladery Classic Picks
Another solid week of picks last week. I don’t want to toot my own horn too much, but check out the picks from last week:
- Charley Hoffman: Very nice showing for Hoffman, finished with a 5-under in the top 25.
- Chris Kirk: Winner, winner! Kirk held on for a nice win which really boosted the picks.
- Harris English: Solid performance, finished 4-under tied for 27th.
- Greg Chalmers: My super sleeper came through big time. Finished tied for 10th with an 8-under.
- Kevin Chappell: Struggled during the weekend but still finished with a 3-under.
As you can see, we had another great week with the picks and it’s just further proof that the projections do work. We will try to keep it up this week at the OHL Classic.
OHL Classic Preview
This week’s tournament will be played in Riviera Maya, Mexico and will be played on the Mayakoba golf course. This event has a full field that will feature a cut. These types of events are typically better for the projections because they are a great tool to find players that should make the cut and compete for top 10 finishes. There are a few big names in the field this week, but as you will see in the projections, they are overpriced.

OHL Classic Picks
- Ryan Palmer: $14,925 – Palmer is at the very top of the projections this week as far as value is concerned. He has decent odds to win, a nice cut %, and a good top 10 finish rate. Palmer has only missed 3 cuts in his last 16 events and should be a shoe-in to make the cut and hopefully push for a top-25 finish.
- Matt Jones: $16,039 – Jones is a very solid player. He’s almost always a lock to make the cut and has 4 top-10 finishes in his last 9 events. The price is very attractive for Jones this week and I think a top-25 finish with a shot at the top-10 is a reasonable expectation here. Nice safe pick with decent upside.
- Scott Piercy: $15,722 – Piercy can really shoot some low rounds. I like him as a dark horse to win this week. His price is very affordable and he has 3 top-25 finishes in his last 7 events. Look for him to be in the mix this weekend.
- Kevin Stadler: $17,623 – Stadler has been on fire to end the 2012-13 season and to start the 2013-14 season. He has made 6 straight cuts and hasn’t placed worse than 43 in any of those events. He always seems to have that one bad round that takes him out of contention, but if he can avoid it this week, he could push for a top-10 finish.
- John Rollins: $12,058 – Rollins is my super sleeper this week. Just like Greg Chalmers surprisingly showed up in the projections last week, the same goes for Rollins this week. For the price, it’s hard to find another golfer with better upside.
