DB's Daily Fantasy College Football Picks: Week 10
Hopefully you followed some of the advice in this column last week, as the picks were as good as they have ever been. Timing was great with it being “Big Score” week on Draftstreet and props goes out to them for putting together another tournament the weekend of Thanksgiving. This week’s schedule is packed with a bunch of extremely boring matchups, but hopefully the following players will help you out in your quest to turn a profit.
Quarterbacks

Brett Hundley (UCLA) – Hundley has had a rough go of it the past few weeks, but this Saturday is the week I expect him to turn it around. Colorado is awful defensively and I think the improving health of running back Jordan James is only going to help his own fantasy production. Hundley’s price has dropped a little after a couple subpar games vs. good defensive teams, so jump on him this week.
Davis Webb (Texas Tech) – Over the past 3 games Webb has chucked the ball 159 times for upwards of 1200 yards and yet his salary is still pretty affordable in most places. This game vs. Oklahoma State should be a shootout and has a total over 66.5 with a spread of less than a field goal. These type of high scoring, competitive games can often times turn into fantasy gold.
B.J. Denker (Arizona) – Cal’s defense is so easy to pick on and it is even easier when they are facing one of the hottest QB’s in college football in Denker. He has scored over 30 fantasy points in 4 out of the last 5 games and is a huge asset on sites that give you extra points for rushing TD’s as he’s reached pay dirt on eight different occasions this season.
Other Options: Braxton Miller (OSU), Jameis Winston (Florida State), Cody Fajardo (Nevada)
Running Backs
Carlos Hyde (Ohio State) – Hyde has been red hot the past three games (over 460 yards & 7 TD’s) and he gets a juicy matchup vs. Purdue this weekend. The Boilermakers have given up some big rushing games to opponents (Wisconsin ran for over 300 yards), and I can’t see them holding down the Buckeyes rushing game here.
David Cobb (Minnesota) – Can’t believe I am recommending a Gophers running back, but Indiana is one of the worst defenses in the country that you pretty much have to look at him. Fitzgerald Toussaint went crazy against this defense a couple weeks ago and Cobb has taken the reigns as the #1 back. He is not a big name, but should have a big week.
Todd Gurley (Georgia) – It finally appears Gurley is back and ready to go this week for the Bulldogs. The matchup might look tough, but the Gators defensive front has not been nearly as dominant as people expected. Gurley went over a 100 yards in the Cocktail Party last year and with him missing the past few games he has had a HUGE price drop and is a nice bargain across the industry.
Other Options: Justin Goodwin (Rutgers), Shadrach Thornton (NC State), Jonathan Gray (Texas)
Wide Receivers
Michael Campanaro (Wake Forest) – Campanaro is a targets machine for the Demon Deacons and he should continue his streak of 10 plus receptions this weekend against Syracuse. The Orange is ranked 118th vs. the pass so the matchup is prime for one of the elite route runners in college football.
Josh Stewart (Oklahoma State) – Last week was a total dud for Stewart, but I like rolling with him after a disappointing game and based on my Thursday GPP’s % owned, he looks like a solid contrarian play. Oklahoma State didn’t need to throw at all last week, but I don’t think the same will be said this Saturday. The over/under in this game is high and the fact he can get you a return TD also adds to his value.
Rashad Greene (Florida State) – Florida State has not had many challenges this year and the oddsmakers don’t see the Miami Hurricanes slowing this team down at all. Greene has stepped up as the #1 option in a terrific receiving corps. He has gone over 100 yards in 3 straight games and has 8 catches in each of the last two. ‘
Other Options: Devin Street (Pittsburgh), Tyler Lockett (Kansas State), Sammy Watkins (Clemson)
Tide Ends
Tyler Kroft (Rutgers) – Temple is just terrible against the pass and Kroft does get a number of looks in the redzone. The price is fair and I expect him to pay off the salary.
Ted Bolser (Indiana) – Bolser got off to a terrific start to the year, but cooled down a good bit. Minnesota touts a below average pass defense and with all the Hoosier’s games being shootouts, he seems like a TE with a lot of upside.
Other Options: E.J. Bibbs (Iowa State), Jake McGee (Virigina)
