Week 16
Players I Am Overweight On
Cam Newton – Newton will be one of the first quarterbacks off the board this week, and he’s my pick if you are using an earlier round selection on him. Tampa Bay has had one of the worst pass defenses in the league all year, and Newton is playing well right now. He tossed four touchdowns against the Packers last week and also brings some upside with his legs.
Philip Rivers – The smarter strategy is generally to wait on your QB selection in Week 16. There are about six or seven interchangeable options in the mid to upper tier of gunslingers, with Rivers firmly being in that mix. He has been fantastic over the second half of the season, with the only risk being a potential letdown after Los Angeles suffered a difficult loss a week ago. The Jets are not an imposing matchup, so I’ll take my chances on Rivers continuing his second half surge. He’s the perfect fit as a later round QB selection.
