AT&T Byron Nelson

Golfers I Am Overweight On

Hideki Matsuyama – Matsuyama has quietly been playing consistent golf of late with nary a missed cut in 12 starts this season, and nine of his last ten starts have resulted in top 35’s. While he hasn’t been finding the winner’s circle, he’s not that far away, and a weak field like this one could be the recipe Matsuyama needs to get the winning momentum rolling heading into the PGA Championship. His tee to green game should suit him well here, and he does have a year of experience at Trinity Forest with a 16th place finish under his belt from 2018. That experience from last year combined with a top 15 ranking in strokes gained around he green gives Matsuyama the nod over Brooks Koepka as my favorite play on the board — but it’s close. They are clearly the top two options teeing it up this week. Do a cheer if you get a top two pick on DRAFT this week, as it’s a big advantage.
