Golfers I Am Overweight On
Hideki Matsuyama – If I am going to take an aggressive stance on any pick this week, it’s with Matsuyama, and I actually prefer a later pick in the first round this week. Matsuyama actually gained about a half stroke putting last week, which is a positive development given his always sketchy short game. A bad Friday round took him out of contention, but his other three rounds were all played at -3 or better, and he was able to claw his way to a top 15 finish. The form has started to come around over his last two starts, both of which have resulted in top 15’s. His tee-to-green game and scoring ability is not in question, and he’s a dark horse to contend this week.
