Rickie Fowler – He’s my pick to win this week. The annual “struggle at Torrey Pines, excel at TPC Scottsdale” narrative is still in force for Rickie Fowler in 2018. He has struggled in each of the last four editions of the Farmers Insurance Open, and that continued with him missing the cut last week despite starting the tournament at four under par through his first seven holes. The good news is that he only missed the cut by one stroke, and he generally turns it around at this week’s event. He has placed fourth and second here over the last two seasons, and his phenomenal ability off the tee always suits him well in the desert. His statistical marks are still rock solid across the board, and let’s not forget that Fowler looked dominant down the stretch of the fall season.
