DraftDay Online Championship of Fantasy Sports 2012
DraftDay has just announced their latest promotion, and it’s a doozy. The DraftDay Online Championship of Fantasy Sports (DOCOFS) is the first online fantasy sports championship of it’s kind. The fantasy baseball event spans five days and includes 8 separate events. The contests combine to boast over $40,000 in guaranteed prizes, with $20,000 being awarded in the $200 Main Event.
DraftDay’s online poker background reveals itself through the innovation or this series. The DOCOFS is not only the first online daily fantasy event of its kind, but is also incorporating a variety of game formats to keep users entertained. Similar to an online poker series which would offer NL Holdem, Omaha and HORSE events for example, DraftDay has decided to introduce AL-Only, NL-Only Turbo, Reduced Salary Cap and ‘Hit It and Split It’ formats. DraftDay is offering satellites to qualify for the events throughout the series, a qualifying contest made famous through larger online and live poker events.
To top it all off, DraftDay is awarding ‘Player of the Series’ prizes to the top point earners throughout the DOCOFS. Whoever earns the most points throughout the series will earn $1,000 plus an opportunity to play DraftDay Endorser and Sirius XM Radio Host, Kay Adams for a shot at an additional $1,000. The 2nd-11th best point earners in the series will square off in a ten-man, $1,000 Freeroll where everyone cashes (points breakdown pictured at bottom of article).
