DraftKings Announces 2019 Sports Betting National Championship

With sports betting legislation starting to appear in multiple states across the United States, DraftKings has made a major announcement.

For the first time ever, DraftKings announced the 2019 Sports Betting National Championship, where they’ll hand out $2.5 million in prizes, with the champion walking away with $1,000,000!

The event will take place live in Jersey City, New Jersey over the course of three days, from January 11th through January 13th. From now until January 8th, users can find qualifiers to the SBNC in the DraftKings lobby.

Each qualifier is valued at $10,000; this includes $5,000 in their SBNC betting account, VIP treatment (including hotel) and, of course, an entry into the Championship event. For those who don’t want to try their hand at the qualifiers, a direct buy-in option is also available!

The rules are pretty straight-forward; 1) Open betting on Friday and Saturday (any sport), but Sunday’s bets must be placed on one (or both) of the NFL’s two Divisional Playoff games, 2) Only one entry is allowed per player, 3) Users must bet at least $1,000 by the end of Saturday night and then a minimum of an additional $2,000 on Sunday’s NFL action, 4) The order of finish is based on each player’s ending bankroll.

Who has what it takes to be the first ever DraftKings Sports Betting Champion?
