Arizona online sports betting launches on September 9th, but you can go ahead and start making your DFS lineups now! The two most popular daily fantasy sites to play on are DraftKings and FanDuel and there are some pretty significant scoring differences between the two. This article will go over two of the biggest scoring differences and discuss implications they may have when creating your teams on each site.

Arizona DFS: DraftKings & FanDuel Scoring

Point Per Reception Versus Half Point Per Reception

One of the biggest differences between sites is that pass catchers get awarded a full (1) point per reception (PPR) on DraftKings as opposed to a half (.5) point per reception on FanDuel. This may seem fairly minor in the scheme of things but it changes how valuable certain types of receivers are on each site. For example, if his preseason usage is any indication, Arizona Cardinals second-round rookie Rondale Moore is going to rack up a lot of short-yardage receptions but may not end the day with gaudy yardage totals. Due to the differences in scoring, an 8 catch, 45-yard day out of Rondale is more valuable on DraftKings (12.5 points) than on FanDuel (8.5 points).

h2=3. Player Bonuses

Another significant scoring difference between the two sites is that DraftKings awards player bonuses for hitting certain thresholds while FanDuel does not. Bonuses awarded on DraftKings include 3 points for 100 Yards Rushing, 100+ Yards Receiving, and 300+ Yards Passing. Due to this difference, a quarterback with a skill-set like Kyler Murray can put up huge fantasy totals as he has the ability to hit two bonuses (300+ Yards Passing and 100+ Yards Rushing) in the same game. While Murray didn’t have a double-bonus game last season, he did throw for 300+ Yards three times and ran for 100+ Yards once.

Running Backs Versus Wide Receivers In The FLEX

Both sites require you to roster either a running back or a wide receiver in the FLEX position. Generally speaking, lineups that use an RB in the FLEX win at a higher rate on both sites than lineups that use a WR. However, due to the scoring differences between the two sites (PPR vs .5 PPR), WRs do appear in winning lineups more frequently on DraftKings than on FanDuel. The takeaway? Most weeks you are going to want to use an RB in the FLEX but if you want to use a WR then do it on DraftKings.
