DraftKings NFL Showdown: Divisional Round
Hello Grinders. We’ve made it to the NFL Divisional Round and down to our final eight teams. DraftKings teased us with their new NFL Showdown game last week for the Panthers-Saints game, and this week, they’ve expanded that format to all four games.
If you’re interested in learning more about what NFL Showdown is, you can read about it in last week’s article that I wrote here. In summary, it’s a single-game DFS format where you select four offensive players and two defensive players. You have to draft at least one player from each team on offense. Here’s a reminder on how scoring is handled. The offensive scoring is your typical DraftKings scoring that you’re used to, but the defensive scoring is new:
Since there are four games to touch on, I’m going to hit on each game briefly and focus on the defensive side since that’s where the unfamiliarity is. For each team, I will provide the following:
1. Their defensive depth chart from the team’s website.
2. Defensive players ranked by $/fantasy point (based on their season average) to help you identify the best values. Bolded players are the expected starters. I didn’t list every single available defensive player in the DraftKings player pool but focused on the ones who will start, as well as backups who should get some playing time. I encourage you to pull defensive snap counts if there’s a player you’re interested in that I didn’t list.
