DSBC Qualifiers: 21 of 40 Spots Filled!
The DraftStreet Baseball Championship is officially more than halfway over as 21 of the 40 qualifiers have been chosen. 21 GPP-style games, ranging in buy-in from $11 to $109 and from 50 to 500 entrants, have been decided thus far and 19 places remain. With $200,000 in prizes, every daily fantasy fanatic needs to be checking out this tournament. Essentially, there will be 40 qualifiers who then advance to another round of qualifying, where a two-day MLB tournament separates the top twelve players to advance to the final bracket. Places 13-40 receive anywhere from $1000 to $500 no matter what, as well. The 12-man final tournament is seeded based on the two-day preliminary game that knocked out 28 other qualifiers. The Top-4 from that prelim event get a bye, and then its a four round brawl for the grand prize of $35K.
Listed below are the qualifiers thus far, many of them you probably recognize from around the Grinder forums. The list shows the qualifiers name, their final score and whether or not they stacked. Interestingly enough, about half of the qualifiers have won via the stacking method. For the purpose of this article, I considered stacking to be the use of 4 or more players from the same team. 9 of the 21 qualifiers thus far for the DSBC have stacked four or more guys on the same squad. What does this say about stacking? I guess it just means that both methods can win. The top overall score right now came via a Milwaukee Brewer stack by WahooWarrior with over 108 points. But GPPBeast has a close 2nd with over 105 fantasy points without the method of stacking. Regardless, all of these guys now have a shot at the grand prize of $35,000 and that’s all that really matters.
