After a one-week hiatus, the RotoGrinders Weekly Rankings Update is back in full-effect! Though Etoppsfan grabs this week’s headline, it was an all-around exciting week for a variety of reasons: We saw some huge point increases across the board, we witnessed the first major effect from the Diversity Restrictor, and the first ‘Large-Field’ score make its way into the RotoGrinders Rankings.

Ranking Shifts

When the dust finally settled, and the recent issues with feeds provided to us by some of our tracked sites were resolved, some major movers in the Rankings emerged. In the nosebleed portion of our rankings, headChopper overtook the #4 spot from SClement21, and they are now separated by less than 10 Grinder Points. However, our headliners this week proved that you can get it done from any buy-in level. Etoppsfan, GeneralV, and bsktrap each added at least 200 Grinder Points to their Grinder Score, and each targets a different buy-in level. GeneralV has unleashed on the high-stakes Daily Fantasy world as of late, adding 481 Grinder Points, and jumping all the way from #19 up to the #12 spot. Meanwhile, Etoppsfan proved you can get it done at the Mid-Stakes Contests. He finally bursted the Top 10 bubble, adding 290 Grinder Points, and jumping from #11 to #8 in the Rankings. And our Low-Stakes hero is currently, Bsktrap. B-Trap jumped two spots up to #13 with a 210 point increase, by grinding predominantly $5.00 contests. RotoGrinders guest-writer WaiverWire also impressed with a 155 point increase, and #7 MichaelC was another big climber this week, padding 173 Grinder Points onto his total.

Other Rankings News

September is poised to be an exciting month for the RotoGrinders Rankings! With FanDuel’s FFFC providing some of the first Large-Field Daily Fantasy Sports Contests, that are sure to shake up the rankings. To test out their new game variant, FanDuel recently tested out a $1,400 guaranteed MLB event. The event drew 150 contestants paying only the Top Three spots. None other than RotoGrinders’ own Cal Spears took 3rd place in the event good for $100 and 20.03 Grinder Points. These large prizes and large fields provide an opportunity to seriously boost your ranking this month, especially if you are like #3 Buffalo66, who has already reached the Diversity Restrictor for a sport and a site. (See our Rankings FAQ for more information on Diversity Restrictors) Buffalo now has scores capped on this season of MLB as well as his top scores on FSL. For any members that reach their restriction on FanDuel, you can still improve your score by winning contests with either a larger buy-in or larger fields than your current results. This means the extra-large-field FFFC contests will provide an excellent opportunity to attempt to bolster your ranking even further. First prize each week is currently a trip to Vegas to compete in the finals, but the RotoGrinders Staff is discussing opportunities ensure this will help your RotoGrinder Ranking, despite not being awarded a direct cash prize.

Monthly GLB and Seasonal GLB

Finally, we wanted to draw some attention to the RotoGrinders Monthly GLB (Grinders Leader Board). September is a perfect month to start, since the NFL is only two days away! In the future, we plan on awarding prizes each month for whichever one of our members wins the Monthly GLB, so now is a good time to start studying what it takes. The Monthly GLB can be sorted by sport, or by all sports combined. In addition the Seasonal GLB will sort your ranking for the most recent sports season for all of Football, Baseball, Hockey and NASCAR. This could make for some interesting side-bets in the upcoming months. The Monthly GLB and Seasonal GLB Rankings can be accessed on our home page or by clicking the ‘Rankings’ tab up top.
