Expert Picks Preview: Tuesday, November 4th
Glean insight from one of the game’s best as they list picks they’ll actually be targeting in his cash games below, along with detailed analysis and reasoning.
Tuesday, November 4th
Point Guard
Kyle Lowry ($7,800) – Kyle Lowry makes for a great play on Tuesday night in his match-up with a tired Oklahoma City backcourt. Lowry’s minutes have been consistently in the mid to upper thirties. The Toronto Raptors have appeared to pick up the offensive pace this season, where they are currently ranked as the fourth fastest team in the entire NBA. You can expect the Raptors to push the pace against the very shorthanded Thunder team who will be on the back end of a back to back.
Reggie Jackson ($5,900)/Sebastian Telfair ($5,500) – The injury woes continue to get worse for the banged up Thunder as it appears they have now lost one of their three healthy guards, Andre Roberson. Jackson returned from injury on Monday night and played a stout 41 minutes, while Telfair came off the bench and played 34 minutes. The volume should be immense for both these guys on Tuesday night when the Thunder travel across the border to Toronto. The best part about playing these guys is the fact that you don’t need to worry a blowout because there is nobody on the bench to replace them.
Shooting Guard
Eric Bledsoe ($7,200) – Bledsoe is a guy I love to target at the shooting guard position because he frequently handles the backup point guard duties as well. Bledsoe had a very solid outing against this same Lakers team on opening night, posting 16 points, rebounds and 9 assists in just 26 minutes of action. The minutes were limited due to the Suns blowing out the Lakers; Bledsoe normally finishes with around 35 minutes. This game has the highest over/under of the evening at 213.5, therefore targeting players from this game will be wise.
Gary Neal ($3,500) – This recommendation somewhat hinges on the health of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. If MKG remains out, Gary Neal will become one of the best value plays of the night. Neal started the second half on Sunday after MKG left the game with an injury. Neal played nearly the entire second half, finishing with 31 minutes, 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Neal has always been one of the league’s best pure scorers off the bench, if given the chance to start, Neal will certainly pay off his low $4,100 price tag.
Small Forward
Luol Deng ($5,900) – Small forward is a very tough position to fill on Tuesday night. Finding value at this position on Tuesday makes a lot sense and Loul Deng is a great place to start. Deng is still logging heavy minutes with his new team, the Miami Heat (37 last game). Deng has improved his fantasy output each and every game this season, peaking at 31 last time out against the Raptors. The game is slated to be close and relatively high scoring, according to Vegas (O/U 202, Miami favored by 1.5). Deng makes for a good mid-range play on Tuesday night.
Shawne Williams ($3,000) – Shawne Williams is still somehow sitting at the bare minimum salary of $3,000 on DK tonight. Williams has been playing very steady minutes (28-32) and will continue to do so with all the injuries to the Heat front court. Over the first three games of the season Williams is averaging 25.3 DK points, which is more than enough to pay off his minimum salary. Williams is a great minimum priced punt play at a very difficult position to fill.
