Falcons vs. Commanders – NFL Player Props
- Bijan Robinson Over/Under 83.5 Rushing Yards
- Tyler Allgeier Over/Under 29.5 Rushing Yards
- Michael Penix Over/Under 30.5 Pass Attempts
Bijan Robinson OVER 83.5 Rushing Yards (-110, FanDuel)
Bijan Robinson hasn’t had the highest rate of explosive runs this season, but he’s still 12th in the NFL in total explosive runs due to his volume alone. He’s also been running the ball better of late, with a 12.0% explosive run rate across his last 4 games – all games in which he has totaled 92+ rushing yards. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against a Washington defense that has allowed the 5th-most runs of 20+ yards in 2024. Robinson is positioned to have a big night against the Commanders, especially if the weather forces Atlanta to place additional emphasis on their ground attack.
Tyler Allgeier OVER 29.5 Rushing Yards (-110, FanDuel)
Tyler Allgeier has been one of Atlanta’s most consistent producers on the road this season, with at least 30 rushing yards in each of the 6 road games in which he’s had at least 1 rush attempt. Tonight, showers are expected in Washington at some point during Sunday Night Football, which is likely to lead to Atlanta emphasizing their run game even more than they would in clean playing conditions. The Falcons ran the ball 34 times last week with their running backs compared to 27 pass attempts. Though game script likely played a role in that split, it’s nevertheless likely that the coaching staff would like to avoid putting too much pressure on their rookie quarterback to win this game through the air. Allgeier should see some opportunities in a favorable matchup against a poor Washington run defense.
Michael Penix UNDER 30.5 Pass Attempts (-115, Bet365)
Michael Penix threw the ball 27 times in his first career start last week against the Giants, but that game was played indoors against one of the league’s worst defenses. Tonight, Penix will have to play in what are likely to be wet conditions on the road with a division title on the line. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Atlanta coaching staff try to take some of the burden off of Penix’s shoulders by slowing down the pace of the game and prioritizing the run game this evening against the Commanders. The under makes sense.
