While the first preseason game of the season isn’t known for thrills or high-stakes drama, it’s nonetheless an opportunity to watch football and get a taste for betting on football. This year’s game won’t feature any starters for either team, which has become the norm over the last decade.
I don’t care to bet on a spread or moneyline for this game since the players who will take a majority of snaps might not even make the final roster. But the total market is one that intrigues me, as it’s set at 31.5 points. While that’s a low number, I like this game to go under that threshold. Rust, a lack of talent, and previous history all indicate this game has a strong chance to be low scoring.
