Saturday, December 16th

Hello Grinders. We have an eight game slate this Saturday night but lots of news and notes we need to account for.

The biggest thing to watch is how the OKC Thunder handle their back-to-back after a triple-overtime win on Friday. Below is how minutes got distributed. The fact their big four starters played 45-52 minutes is pretty concerning for Saturday’s game against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden. This is a #revengegame for Carmelo Anthony but I have some reservations playing a jump shooter on a back-to-back after he just played 47 minutes. Russell Westbrook also playing 52 minutes is crazy. For now, my recommendation is to monitor news on whether any Thunder players sit for rest on Saturday or have their minutes scaled back (and of course, I’ll be sure to update the article if I find anything). I would just exercise some caution playing any of the big four until we have a better understanding of how they will be deployed on Saturday.
