FanDuel Single Entry Series: Week 15 Player Pool

The FanDuel Single Entry Series, presented by RotoGrinders, is back for NFL, so it’s a good time to talk about a process that can help you succeed when building a single GPP roster.
There is something exciting and inspiring about pure, level-footed competition. We all think of head-to-head games as beating our opponents individually, but rarely do we picture pitting our lineup one-on-one with each of the competitors in a large-field tournament. Single entry GPPs give us that chance. We don’t have the luxury – and nor does the competition – of taking multiple paths to roster construction. We have to decide which of the available concepts is most likely to capture the top prize and make some tough decisions to cut players and strategies we like along the way.
In this article, I will once again call back to the original strategy guide and focus on information specific to Week 15. In the second installment, we overviewed the landscape of the slate. Last week, we zoomed in on a few individual matchups. This week, I’ll take you through some of my mid-week player pool thoughts, and why I kept/excluded some players from my personal consideration. Hopefully, my thought process will help you make your decisions on creating a pool for Week 15.
As of this writing, I am 33rd in the $50 SES standings found here. Writing these articles seems to be helping my process. Hopefully reading them will help you do the same.

Week 15 Player Pool Thoughts
Quarterback: Players currently remaining in the pool – 6
2 Players Still Standing:
Derek Carr – $7,900 – vs. SD – The matchup isn’t perfect by the numbers, but I want to put my trust in this offensive line to protect Carr and give him time against the San Diego pass rush. I like the individual matchups for receivers not covered by Casey Hayward, and the Vegas total implies this game should produce plenty of points. Carr is near the bubble, but his modest price point has kept him in the pool for now. He could provide some much-needed roster construction flexibility.
