Fantasy Golf: Deutsche Bank Championship Expert Picks
What’s up Grinders. We are coming off of a very solid week of picks. The stud golfers all finished in the Top-15 and Hunter Mahan capped it off with a victory. The value picks also paid off as Kevin Na, Paul Casey, and Bill Haas all made the cut and had strong finishes. This week is the 2nd stop of the FedEx Cup. The Deutsche Bank Championship is played at the same course year after year. The TPC Boston is a Par-71 that measures 7,216 yards. It is a very gettable course and you shouldn’t be surprised if the winner ends up shooting -20 or even lower. The stats that I will be focusing on this week are ball striking, strokes gained putting, and Par-5 scoring.

Adam Scott: $11,200 – I’m going back to the well with Scott this week. Since his win at the Crowne Plaza, Scott has backed it up with strong play. He has posted Top-15 finishes in 7 straight events (including the win) and looks to put himself in good position to take down the FedEx Cup. Scott’s first career victory was at this course in 2003 and he is 9/9 on cuts at this event. He’s ranked 10th in ball striking, 15th in strokes gained putting, and 1st in Par-5 scoring. He’s my pick to win it all this week.
Matt Kuchar: $9,700 – After withdrawing at the PGA Championship due to a strained back, Kuchar put all injury concerns behind him with a solid T-5th finish at the Barclays which was his 10th Top-10 of the season. He has always played well in this event and posted a personal best T-4th place finish here last season. He’s ranked 47th in ball striking, 8th in strokes gained putting, and 44th in Par-5 scoring. He’s also a great scrambler. I’d be surprised to see him outside of the Top-10 this week.
Jim Furyk: $9,500 – Furyk has been a machine. While he has been the brides maid on quite a few occasions this season, it’s hard to find a more consistent golfer. He has Top-20 finishes in 7 straight events and has finished inside the Top-10 in 4 of his last 5. He’s a perfect 9/9 at the TPC Boston with 3 Top-10’s. Furyk hits a ton of fairways, a ton of greens + fringe, and he is the best scrambler on Tour this season. I’m heavily targeting him again this week.
Other Studs to Consider: Rickie Fowler: $9,700, Jason Day: $9,800, Hunter Mahan: $8,900

Keegan Bradley: $8,400 – Mr. Bradley has posted a couple of subpar outings after a terrific stretch heading into the PGA Championship. I’m expecting a nice bounce-back performance from him this week in what is basically a home game for Keegan. He is from New England and should be extremely comfortable here. Keegan has finished inside the Top-20 here each of the last 2 seasons and has the stats to back him up. He’s ranked 29th in ball striking and 53rd in strokes gained putting.
Ryan Moore: $7,100 – I have a feeling that Moore is going to go overlooked this week and that’s just fine with me. He missed the cut last week at the Barclays, but that wasn’t a course that he had played well on in the past. Prior to that event, Moore had posted Top-12 finishes in 4 of his previous 5 outings. I’m looking for him to bounce back this week on a course that he has had success on in the past. This course requires you to go low and Moore has the 9th most birdies on Tour. He’s also ranked 22nd in ball striking and 44th in Par-5 scoring.
John Senden: $6,400 – Senden may be one of the most popular plays of the week and rightly so. He has absolutely crushed this event in the past. He has posted Top-25 finishes in each of the last 4 years and has the stats to back him up as well. He’s ranked 33rd in ball striking, 9th in strokes gained putting, and 7th in Par-5 scoring. That’s hard to pass up at a $6,400 price tag.
Other Value Plays to Consider: Charley Hoffman: $6,400, Camilo Villegas: $6,100, Brendan Steele: $5,700
