What is the best position to spend up on tonight?
What is the best position to save salary on?
Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?
Notorious: There are six excellent values that I would consider elite plays tonight. This sets up as a stars/scrubs type of roster construction. For a four-game slate, there are surprisingly a lot of choices available.
STLCardinals84: It is possible that Boston will be without Brown, Irving, Smart, Horford, and Theis tonight. That’s five key pieces of the rotation. The largest simple size we have in CourtIQ with those players all off the floor is a whole 47 minutes. This shows you what a bind Boston is in tonight, and there is plenty of value to be had — especially if Horford is out.
Stevietpfl: Kevin Durant has a 44.2% usage and averages 1.7 fantasy points per minute without Klay, Curry, and Green on the floor this season. Casspi averages .97 fantasy points per minute, and in a small sample size, Bell is averaging 1.21 fantasy points per minute.
What is your hot take of the day?
meansy53: Kevin Durant finishes with the exact same amount of minutes and real life points.
STLCardinals84: Terry Rozier records a triple-double.
Stevietpfl: Abdel Nader goes for 25+ fantasy points and is on the winning GPP teams tonight
Who is your top contrarian play on the board and why?
Notorious: Greg Monroe – Not sure if he’ll end up being contrarian now that Al Horford has been ruled out, but we’ve seen Monroe produce in these situations time and time again over the last couple of seasons.
meansy53: Bradley Beal – Ownership should be depressed due to the matchup and his recent form. Believe it or not though, he has one of the higher ceilings on the slate for a guy not named Durant or Giannis. With all of the bodies out for Boston, we aren’t going to see the same level of defense out of them tonight.
STLCardinals84: Wayne Ellington – With Josh Richardson now ruled out and both Wade and Whiteside also out, Ellington should play a pile of minutes on the wing. He doesn’t have the highest ceiling on the planet, but he should be able to knock down some threes and gather plenty of shot attempts. I like him as a really sneaky option on this four game slate.
Stevietpfl: Nikola Vucevic – There is a lot of value at power forward and center tonight, and I’m hoping people use that value instead of Vucevic. The Magic have been shipping it in lately, but I can’t pass on this matchup. The Bucks rank in the bottom five against centers in defense and defesensive efficiency.
Who is your top overall play on the board and why?
Notorious: Kevin Durant – No Curry, No Draymond, no problem. Look for the Warriors to take care of business tonight against the Lakers thanks to a monster outing from KD.
meansy53: Kevin Durant – The Warriors get one of the few pace-up games for them, and it just so happens that they are without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green (amongst others). KD is in store for all of the minutes he can handle tonight, which makes him a lock across the board for me.
STLCardinals84: Terry Rozier – This is a “don’t get cute” spot for me. We saw him fill in admirably for Irving earlier this season, and now the Celtics are without Brown and Smart as well. Rozier should be looking at 40 minutes of court time if this game stays close. Fire him up with confidence in all formats.
Stevietpfl: Kevin Durant – The usage is insane without the other three guys on the floor, and without them on the floor, I expect this game to stay close. I have a hard time not seeing Durant in a winning lineup tonight, and I think he’s the highest scoring player on the slate by 10+ fantasy points.
