2025 Farmers Insurance Open Weather Forecast and Projections

PGA golfer Bradley

We’re teeing off in gorgeous La Jolla, California for the Farmers Insurance Open this week, and the weather is every bit as nice as you’d expect… until the final round.

As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts.

With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another.

You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on the best DFS sites.

Farmers Insurance Open Weather Forecast

Wednesday, January 22nd

In what will be a common theme, the weather is perfect to start the tournament off: 5-10mph max winds, mild temps, no rain.

Thursday, January 23rd

Winds Thursday might be a tick higher than Wednesday, but they will still top out in a very manageable 5-10mph range.

Friday, January 24th

Another day with max winds only reaching 5-10 mph and no precipitation.

Saturday, January 25th

Closing things out with the only interesting weather day. Winds start 5-10mph, but increase to 10-15mph by the afternoon. Rain chances pick up a bit later in the day as well.

Farmers Insurance Open Weather Thoughts

Really nice stuff here. Outside of the final round, I don’t think weather plays even the tiniest role in the tournament. Those who tee off earlier for the final round on Saturday have a slight weather advantage.
