FedEx St. Jude Championship Weather Report and Forecast

PGA golfer Sepp Straka

We’re teeing off just outside of Memphis, TN for the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and aside from the heat, the weather could not be any better for golf.

As usual in my PGA weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts.

With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another.

You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on the best DFS sites.

FedEx St. Jude Championship Weather Forecast

Thursday, August 7th

Perfect weather on the first day (and basically every day that follows). We’ll see calm winds of 0-5 mph to start, increasing just a hair to over 5 mph by the afternoon.

Friday, August 8th

It’s a repeat of Thursday’s weather. It’s hot, it’s dry, and winds are light (0-5 mph early, a bit over 5 mph in the afternoon).

Saturday, August 9th

We’re keeping the same weather pattern with no rain and light winds into the weekend.

Sunday, August 10th

Closing it out the way we started, with no rain issues and light winds. The heat is the only issue, with high temps in the mid-90s and feels-like temps around 100 degrees.
