Tennis DFS Picks for the French Open
Borna Coric: We’re really excited about Borna Coric’s upcoming match in the French Open. He’s definitely someone worth considering for DFS lineups, as a top 20ish player on clay matched up with someone not even inside the top 150. Coric is the clear favorite with odds of -700, indicating a high chance of winning. His opponent (Coria) is strong in the return game, but ranks just 300th in service ELO over the past year. What’s even more enticing is that Coric is still currently the top points per dollar player, offering great value for his expensive salary of $10,200. With an impressive ELO rating percentile of 95.51, Coric has proven his skill level time and time again. The best part is that his ownership should be under 20%, so he could be a nice differentiator in DFS lineups.
Carlos Alcaraz: In today’s DFS tennis slate at the French Open, Carlos Alcaraz is a player worth considering despite a massive price tag. Currently ranked as the #2 points per dollar player, Alcaraz offers excellent value for his salary despite being priced through the roof. He’s the best player in the world – so obviously he will come with ownership. However, he is heavily favored with odds of -10000 (and the game spread is over 10!). This is suggesting a very high probability of winning by a landslide. Alcaraz is 31-5 on clay in the past 52 weeks with 3 titles to show for it, and paying up for this security may end up being worth it.
Dominic Thiem: He’s a player to watch in the French Open slate Monday. He is a slim favorite in his match at -135, and it makes sense because his opponent Pedro Cachin ranks much better on clay than he does in his overall play. That said, you can apply that same statement to Thiem (with the added note that Thiem is in the top 50 overall rating on Clay). Thiem is offering good value for his salary of $7,800, and we’re going to need some savings to pay up for the big boys. Thiem presents an intriguing option for DFS lineups in today’s slate with a combination of favorable odds, a beatable matchup, and reasonable salary.
