Friday, February 26th - FanDuel Single Game Analysis: POR @ LAL
Is your main slate lineup looking rough? Or did you not get off work in time to make one? Or just looking for a little more action? Don’t worry, FanDuel has you covered with their Single Game format. Monday night’s marquee game is POR @ LAL starting at 10 PM ET. You can make a lineup with players from just this game. Below are some options for players to use in the MVP slot and other cheap options that will allow you to fit in the big dogs.
Top MVP Options
LeBron James ($16,000) – Things have been tough lately for the Lakers who are currently on a four-game losing streak. Luckily they’ll get some reinforcements on Friday night with Dennis Schroder expected back but most of the team’s offensive responsibility will continue to rest on the shoulders of LeBron. While the Lakers have struggled big-time offensively, the Trailblazers own the second-worst defensive rating in the league and could be exactly the cure Los Angeles is looking for.
Damian Lillard ($15,000) – Damian Lillard has cooled off after a couple of absolutely monster fantasy performances (73.8 FDP, 60.2 FDP) but Portland’s PG is still averaging an impressive 50.32 FDP over his last ten games. While the Lakers lead the league in defensive rating on the season, they have been much worse on that end of the ball over their four-game losing streak, ranking 18th in defensive rating. In other words, this matchup isn’t nearly as bad as it looks at first glance and Lillard is a huge favorite to finish this game as one of the two highest fantasy scorers.
Top Value Options
Markieff Morris ($7,000) – There’s no guarantee Morris gets the starting nod like he did in Wednesday’s game but the veteran should be in line for minutes in the low-to-mid-20’s regardless. Morris has been more active over the last two games, averaging 19.95 FDPs over that span. There’s not a ton of upside here but he’s the lowest priced Laker that I would consider using in my lineups.
Derrick Jones ($9,000) – Something has gotten into DJJ who has been much more active offensively as of late, scoring double-digits in four of his last five games. His newfound offensive aggression combined with his ability to rack up fantasy points on the defensive side of the ball via blocks and steals make him an intriguing value option for just $9,000.
