The PGA Championship was everything we hoped for and more, made even sweeter with a +3300 winning pick on Collin Morikawa.

This week the PGA Tour heads to Greensboro, North Carolina for the Wyndham Championship, the final tournament before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin next week at The Northern Trust.

We’ll break down this week’s course and golf odds as we bring you golf betting picks for the Wyndham Championship.

Wyndham Championship Course — Sedgefield Country Club

Sedgefield Country Club hosts the Wyndham Championship as the field features golfers hungry for FedEx points. Some golfers will be playing for a playoff birth, while others try to add to their points and lock in their spot to the second week of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Sedgefield Country Club is a 7,127 yard Par 70. The Donald Ross design routinely invites a storm of birdies to Greensboro. Brandt Snedeker set the course record with a first-round 59 before winning the 2018 Wyndham Championship. The last tfour champions have shot at least 21-under.

While golfers can certainly go low, they’ll need to avoid three-putts on Sedgefield’s severely undulated Bermuda greens. Golfers not only need to find the fairway but they’ll need to find the correct side of the fairway, often dependent on pin locations, to set up consistent scoring opportunities.

With a host of medium-lengthed Par 4s and only two Par 5s (the longest playing 545 yards), the winner doesn’t need a ton of power off the tee. Instead of bombers look for well-rounded golfers who play with acute precision from tee to green.

Golf Betting Favorites at the Wyndham Championship

Sedgefield Country Club isn’t a staple stop for top players on Tour, but this week’s field does include the likes of Webb Simpson, Brooks Koepka Paul Casey, Patrick Reed, Tommy Fleetwood, and Justin Rose.

Simpson +1100 is the favorite in front of Brooks Koepka +1200. Simpson stuck around for the weekend at the PGA Championship but he only finished T37. TPC Harding wasn’t exactly made for Simpson, as you can tell by looking at the top of the leaderboard filled with bombers. That won’t be the case for Sedgefield Country Club, which suits Simpson’s game arguably better than anyone’s.

With a second-place finish in 2019, he now has two runners-up and a third-place finish in his last four appearances, not to mention a 6th and 5th, respectively in 2015 and 2014. Oh, and Simpson got his first PGA Tour victory here in 2011. Astounding course history at Sedgefield Country Club to say the least.

Simpson has two victories since his runner-up here a year ago. He’s more than deserving of his seat atop of this week’s golf odds.

Next up is Brooks Koepka, returning to the field after a Sunday meltdown at the PGA Championship. That meltdown came less than 24 hours after throwing shade on some of his competitors, including Dustin Johnson. Karma is a…

Anyways, this isn’t a normal stop for Koepka, who hasn’t returned to Greensboro since his T6 in 2015. As well know by now, Koepka typically “only cares about majors,” but he might have some extra motivation after writing checks he couldn’t cash over the weekend. We backed Koepka two weeks ago, btu that was a WGC event and he carried odds of more than +3000. Koepka only has three PGA Tour victories not including majors. I’m not betting on him at +1200.

Beneath Simpson and Koepka are a quartet of golfers who deserve our undivided attention for golf and DFS purposes.

Patrick Reed +1700, Tommy Fleetwood +1800, Paul Casey +2000, and Justin Rose +2200, coming off respectable PGA Championship performances, are all threats to win in Greensboro this week.

Of the four, Paul Casey +2000 interests me most. After a pair of missed cuts in his last two full-field events, Casey bounced back on a much bigger stage. Casey found himself tied for second when all was said and done at TPC Harding, doing so with only modest help from an often unreliable putter. Casey excelled in his second shots, ranking 5th in strokes gained approach through the four days. If the sharpshooting carries over, then Casey will be in good shape at Sedgefield Country Club, a course where the Englishman finished third in 2015 and 13th in his return to Greensboro last season.

Wyndham Championship Mid-tier odds

With the incoming birdie-fest, there’s a host of mid-tier and longshot odds I’d rather focus on than many golfers at the top. After all, five of the last 10 Wyndham Championship winners have came in at 100-to-1 odds or greater.

Before we get to those mega longshots, which I certainly of affinity for, there are two golfers who aren’t quite as short as the guys at the top, but have shown the ability to play with them more often than once in a blue moon.

The first is Billy Horschel +3500. Horschel does a lot of things well on the golf course but hasn’t won since 2017. He made the cut at the PGA Championship and had three top 25s before that. At Sedgfield specifically, Horschel has a T6, T11 and T5 in three of his last four visits, ranking third in strokes gained total in the Wyndahm Championship over the past five season. Billy Ho has been riding a hot putter, though. Hopefully, he doesn’t have an off week because this field, this course, one week after a major, presents a solid opportunity for him to find the winner’s circle again.

Sunjae Im +4000, similar to Matthew Wolff, has become somewhat of a staple in my weekly golf betting picks. He wasn’t included last in last week’s major field, but he returns a featured pick for the Wyndham Championship. He makes another appearance not because of his current form which is anything but desirable. However, we know Im can win, finally doing so at the Honda Classic earlier this season. Despite missing the cut at the PGA Championship, Im played better than you’d think. Now Im gets a weaker field at a course he took a liking to last season. In his debut at Sedgefield, Im opened with a first-round 62. He’d finish 6th by the end of the weekend. Here’s to hoping for another first-round 62, but one that turns into a victory this time around.

Additional mid-tier plays:

Russell Henley +6600
Joaquin Niemann +6600
Lucas Glover +8500

Risking 1 unit on all six picks from above.

Golf Betting Longshots at the Wyndham Championship

Remember how I said triple-digit longshots have had their fair share of success a the Wyndham Championship over the past decade? We’ll have our fair share of exposure to triple-digit longshots this week.

Each of these longshots and their prices can be found at FanDuel as of Monday afternoon. Be aware that these picks have significantly shorter odds at other sportsbooks. For example, Zhang is no longer than +15000 elsewhere, and the story comes close to repeating itself on each of the other five picks.

Xinjun Zhang +25000
Chesson Hadley +25000
Jason Dufner +25000
Wesley Bryan +25000
Austin Cook +20000

Risking .20 units on each.

2019-20 PGA Tour Season: +29.13 Units
