Tournament Preview
I don’t know about you, but I’m extremely excited about this week’s Scottsdale Open. It is the best DFS golf tournament since The PLAYERS Championship was cancelled back in March. The Outlaw/Golden State mini tours have been fun to follow, but most have featured limited fields. This week’s event not only features a number of PGA Tour regulars, but a total of 162 golfers in the field. We still don’t have full tournament contests on DraftKings, but their showdown GPPs continue to grow each and every week. Our job is to fill those contests, so they can continue to #MakeItBigger.
They have held the Scottsdale Open at Talking Stick Golf Club each of the last four years. Unlike the events we have seen the last six weeks, we actually have some course history to work with. It’s also a positive to live in the area, as most living in Scottsdale are very familiar with this golf course. Last season, the course played as a Par 70 that measured 7,133 yards. If there aren’t any changes to the scorecard, there will only be two par fives to attack each round. We can still expect low scoring, as the winning scores the last three years were -10, -9, and -10.
