Bargain Bin Ballers isn’t your typical Value Plays column. These are extremely low-dollar options, with the potential to hit, that could make-or-break your evening. Each week, our top-ranked experts, dig deep to find these plays which help you win your GPP, and sometimes, if a low-variance option sprouts up, even your head-to-head. Bargain Bin Ballers only includes players in the following price tiers:

DraftKings Bargain Bin Ballers Price-Tiers 1

Position Price Cutoff
Point Guard $5,500
Shooting Guard $5,500
Small Forward $5,500
Power Forward $5,500
Center $5,500

Point Guard

Elfrid Payton: $4,000 – Payton is coming off of two 30+ fantasy point games, and now draws a matchup with the woeful Sixers. At $4000, he will be in every one of my cash and GPP lineups. His upside relative to his price is simply too great to even consider fading, especially against a weak opponent. He’s not much of a scorer but he fills up the stat sheet in several other areas, giving him a nice floor and good upside. Given the obligatory boost every player gets when facing Philly, he’s the top price-dependent option on the board for me.

Aaron Brooks: $4,000 – The Bulls are being extremely cautious with Derrick Rose, and understandably so. Rose was probable last night, then scratched shortly before tip off. Fortunately, DraftKings offers us late swap, so we can monitor this situation, then switch Brooks into our lineups if we have to wait until after the initial games start for clarity on the situation. If Rose plays, Brooks isn’t an option for me because he’ll lose minutes, which limits his upside. However, for lack of any better value plays at the point guard position today ( aside from Payton ), Brooks will be in a number of my lineups if we receive word that Rose is going to take another night off.

Shooting Guard

Jimmy Butler: $4,900 – Here’s a pricing mistake you just have to take advantage of. Don’t think twice about it. Plus Butler in at this ridiculous price, and move on. Spending at shooting guard is almost always a mistake, and today is a perfect example of that. The expensive options aren’t intriguing, and Butler is sitting there at a price that must be a typo. Just use him.

Courtney Lee: $3,200 – Lee is slated to return against Phoenix, and he should go right back to his normal allotment of minutes. He draws a great matchup with a Suns team that is playing a back to back, doesn’t defend well, and plays at a very fast pace. This is great news for Grizzles, as they are priced according to their extremely slow pace. Memphis will see more than their average number of possessions, and given Lee is already fairly cheap relative to his typical production, he’s a fine value play tomorrow.

Gary Neal: $3,400 – I like Neal more if Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is forced to miss another game, but given how well he’s been playing, it’s difficult to imagine he’ll see less than 25 minutes even if MKG is back. Neal has been fantastic, especially the last couple of games, and if he can keep up his production, he’s an absolute steal at $3,400.

Small Forward

Shawne Williams: $3,000 – Williams continues to do just enough to make himself a viable fantasy option. He’s seeing 28-30 minutes nightly, which should be enough time for him to pull down enough rebounds and knock down enough three-pointers to hit his value threshold. This isn’t a play that has much to do with matchup, rather Williams is a player that is priced at a low price relative to the fantasy points he appears to be locked into. Paying up at small forward generally hurts your lineups, so look to Williams as a value play that provides the ability to pay for better options elsewhere.
