KC's Weekend Preview 10/12

kc2

Well for those of you that are regular readers (not sure we have any at all…) you’ll immediately notice that I missed the Review earlier this week. I’m sure you were all worried, but never fear I’m back. To make up for my shortcomings earlier in the week, I’ve done something very special. May I now present ‘KCs Review of What He Would Have Reviewed’ from last weekend.

To make this extra special, I’m going to pretend like I’m telling you timely, newsworthy info that you don’t already know

Last Weekend’s Review

1) Did you guys hear the Colts beat the Packers?

- Yeah it was crazy. I’m not sure how many of you participate in Survivor games but this was a killer for many that I’ve seen. After watching this game I feel like the Packers secondary may be a target for player selection in weeks to come. Old Man Reggie Wayne torched them for 200 yards and a score. The road doesn’t get easier for Rodgers and company as they travel to Houston for MNF this week. You heard it hear first (or maybe last) the Packers are in trouble…

2) Did you guys hear the Rangers got bounced by the Orioles and didn’t even qualify for the ‘real MLB playoffs?’

ronwash-200-31810

- Yeah it was even crazier. The no-name bunch of Orioles walked into Texas and walked out a winner. Hamilton was getting mercilessly booed. Texas’ ‘Murders Row’ looked more like the line for hopscotch on the schoolyard. This was an absolutely horrible finish to a mediocre campaign for the Rangers. Interested to see where Hamilton winds up next year, because I don’t think its in Texas.

3) Did you guys hear the #3, 4 and 5 Ranked Teams in CFB all got beat on Saturday?

- Yeah it was pretty crazy. 3, 4 and 5 were Florida St., LSU and Georgia respectively. If I was good at research I’d look up when the last time 3 top 5 teams lost on the same day. Research isn’t my strong point but I’m comfortable enough to go out on a limb and say it was a while ago. Early indications (well almost halfway I guess) for this CFB season are that there is much parody. There are a lot of good teams and quality storylines. But this is the ‘review’ so lets not look forward just yet.

Anyway, I hope this ‘mini-review’ helps ease the hole that was undoubtedly in your heart when my article didn’t show up earlier this week.

Now lets all shift our thinking to the future, as I present our sport-by-sport analysis for the upcoming weekend.

MLB Preview

Actual News

Playoffs have shaped up great thus far. Each Wild Card Series went the distance and the ‘underdogs’ have held their own with the big boys to say the least.

DFS News

I’m honestly not sure if many sites are offering games as I retired from MLB when the regular season ended. I’ve discussed in the past the lack of variance at this point of the season, and that remains the reason I stay away from MLB in October.

I’d like to close my last MLB commentary of the year by saying how much I have thoroughly enjoyed the 2012 postseason. About midway through this year I wasn’t sure I could ever watch a baseball game again without some sort of DFS stakes on the line. But after watching the ‘Frat Boy A’s’ come back from down 2 in the ninth on Wednesday and the ‘CaveMan Walkoff’ by Jayson Werth on Thursday Night, I must say there is still some enjoyment in the game itself.

So for those of you not clinging to the last scraps of DFS action on baseball, take some time to watch a game through the eyes of a true fan. You might remember an easier time in your life. Or then again you might just fuel the DFS fire inside. To each his own I guess…

We’ve got a few sexy matchups once again this weekend. And while I’m not sure they can compete with the loaded lineup we had last weekend, it still is far better than watching your kids or listening to your wife. Heres whats on the docket:

DFS News

I seem to play well on one site a week for College Football. Lately that site has been DraftStreet. So what better way to celebrate my success than to give you my exact lineup for this week’s action, along with a sentence of two explaining myself? You are very welcome:

NFL Preview

Actual News

I lost a stupid bet with RG’s very own Ethan last week and I’m now growing a terrible beard on my face. For those not up-to-date on forum news, this bet came in the form of Broncos/Pats. I now hate Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and company even more.

My face itches already and its only week 1. Pics will be posted early next week with regular ‘beard updates’ following that.

In DFS related NFL news… KC is bad at NFL. Like really bad. You know in NBA when the opponent your playing takes someone injured and you know you’ve won from the get-go?

That’s what I seem to be doing thus far in 2012 for my opponents in NFL. But my guys are actually on the field… Jimmy Graham, Andre Johnson and Marshawn Lynch are at the top of my ‘Physically Unable to Perform on the Field’ list from last week.

At this point, I won’t give you any advice here because it would frankly be a huge disservice. Let me instead point you in the direction of CSURAM88 and NAAPSTERMAAN for NFL advice. They continue to kill the GPPs thus far and you should go ahead and try to squeeze some picks out of them instead of me if you need help.

And with that I’m absolutely spent… And frankly I’m now quite excited for the weekend. Its that time of year now (at least in most locals) that the weather is getting cold and its getting easier and easier to convince the girl/wife/family to stay in for the weekend. I wish you luck with this conversation because based upon what I’m seeing its gonna be some dynamite sports viewing.

This weekend’s ‘King of the Couch’ –
