League of Legends LPL/LCK DFS Preview: Friday, June 26th
Slate Overview
Thursday’s slate was, ummm, low-scoring. I am still refreshing the RNG/V5 Game 2 scoreboard to confirm that there were only 11 (!!) total kills with V5 winning 6-5. Regardless, I whiffed big-time in thinking RNG would 2-0 Victory Five and have to give a tip of the cap to V5 as they continue to find wins.
Ultimately, the key to placing toward the top of GPP’s was full-out stacking Invictus Gaming. IG laid a dud in Game 1 with only 5 kills but rallied to win the final two games, capping off their victory with 22 kills in Game 3.
Friday’s slate finally gives us a little different look than what we have seen the last two days with one massive favorite demanding the majority of ownership. While we’ll still likely see the highest favored team (TES) higher owned than the others the addition of a second large LPL favorite in Team WE should help spread ownership out a little bit in tournaments. In cash games, the optimal approach appears to be stacking TES + WE while using a SUPPORT or TOP player in the CPT slot.
