League of Legends LPL/LCK DFS Preview: Thursday, June 18th
Slate Overview
Wednesday’s slate was an interesting one with a 3 (EDG) – 3 (AF) – 1 (IG) lineup taking down the big $15 GPP on DraftKings for a solo $50,000 bink. RotoGrinders’ very own ‘CheeseIsGood’ tied for 3rd place with a more traditional 4 (AF) – 3 (EDG) stack.
A quick glance at ownership confirms that the LCK teams were significantly lower-owned than the LPL teams. LPL players being higher owned than LCK players isn’t surprising but I wasn’t expecting this big of a discrepancy with the only Afreeca Freecs player seeing double-digit ownership being Mystic at 11.27%. It will be interesting to track Thursday’s ownership as current betting markets have all favorites with relatively similar kill totals across the board. They are as follows: Victory Five (14.5), JD Gaming (13.5), KT Rolster (13.5), Hanwha Life Sports (12.5). If you expect a similar gap in ownership between the two leagues again on Thursday it is absolutely worth exploring going overweight on LCK teams in large-field tournaments as betting markets currently expect similar production.
