League of Legends LPL/LCK DFS Preview: Wednesday, June 17th

Slate Overview

Yes! We finally get a weekday slate that’s larger than two games. The LCK returns on Wednesday and with it we get the return of mixed LPL/LCK slates. On the one hand, I greatly welcome the increased player pool as it helps reduce overlap and increases lineup consturction strategy. On the other hand, the LCK doesn’t announce lineups nearly as early as the LPL so there is some increased risk in rostering certain players on LCK teams.

Sandbox Gaming is one of the rosters that brings some uncertainty whenever they play. Luckily they are the first game of Wednesday’s slate which means we should get a confirmed lineup a few hours before lineups lock. It seems unlikely that we’ll get any surprises out of T1 or DragonX and I feel comfortable rostering their players even though we’re unlikely to get confirmed lineups.

With the return of mixed LPL/LCK slates it’s important to note the differences between each league. Drew Mathews (Redkacheek) did an excellent job of summarizing the differences when he wrote up the Mid-Season Cup at the end of May. Here is an excerpt from his article:
