Locker, a new free-to-play DFS app that launched in private beta mode for the Chargers-Jets Monday Night Football game on Nov. 6, is now open to the public, who can sign up for a free account at Locker.bet.

As RotoGrinders exclusively reported around the time of the private beta launch, the way Locker works is that contestants are presented with multiple-choice markets at the beginning of most drives, asking them questions like which player will gain the most yards on that drive or what the end result of the drive will be. At the game’s conclusion, the top finishers are paid predetermined amounts from a fixed prize pool.

The public beta launch will include the participation of former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who will host three Locker contests on his Twitch channel, highlighted by the Dec. 10 Sunday Night Football tilt between the Eagles and Cowboys that will feature a $2,500 prize pool. Locker is focusing exclusively on prime-time NFL games at this juncture, although it plans to move quickly into other sports.

Through his lifestyle and gaming company, Hall of Fame Gaming, Jackson will also be on hand for the Dec. 17 Ravens-Jaguars clash and the Dec. 21 Saints-Rams matchup on Thursday Night Football. Participants will not only be able to compete against Jackson, but they’ll also be able to communicate with him via the app’s live chat function.

“Locker is about to shake up the online gaming space and I’m fired up to be part of it from the outset by bringing these fun and rewarding contests to Hall of Fame Gaming’s expansive and hyper-engaged audience,” Jackson said in a press release. “I’m especially looking forward to watching my Eagles take it to the Cowboys on a national stage while competing in a Locker contest against all my fans and haters from coast to coast!”

Due largely to its free-to-play nature, Locker is available to users in Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin.

“The sports betting products available to today’s mass-market consumer come with a high barrier to entry, which too frequently serves to dissuade participation,” said Locker co-founder and CEO Noah Bernstein. “Our mission through Locker is to fundamentally change that dynamic by bringing to market a product that’s both intuitive and social.”
