Massive Update to RG's College Football Tools & Articles

With games set to kick off in the college football world this coming Thursday, we have been hard at work to ensure that RotoGrinders is the premiere place to find daily college football advice, stats and strategy. Harder than Tim Tebow pectorals. This season we will be unveiling a large selection of college football tools and articles that are going to work towards accomplishing the same goals that drive us for any and all research related material:
1) Making your research process more efficient
2) Improving your success in DFS
With that in mind, here are the 2013 CFB Daily Research Tools and Weekly Articles:
Note: All non-incentives tools headers below link directly to that page
College Football Projections
The biggest addition this season will be our college football projections. These will include all Division 1-A players each week and are site-specific. The projection number itself is based on site scoring systems and the value rating will be shown based on site-specific player salaries. Our NFL formula has had a ton of success in projecting football daily fantasy so we are excited to transition that into the college realm.
Throughout the week CFB expert JMBWngFn will be manually making tweaks and fixes and uploading the projections to RG every night so the projections are constantly fresh and up-to-speed with the latest injury news and depth chart changes.
The first batch of CFB projections each week will be posted by late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, leaving you plenty of time to prepare for the week’s games.
We will be offering CFB projections as an Incentives tool for the 7 daily fantasy sites currently available with incentives packages

Player Stats
The basic player stats page will be available for CFB as well. With a page for each position you can check in on the latest player statistics for all D-1A skill position players.
Depth Charts
A new addition to the CFB Daily Research console is the Depth Chart tool. This will show players at the following positions for all D-1A teams:
- Quarterback #1
- Quarterback #2
- Running Back #1
- Running Back #2
- Wide Receiver #1
- Wide Receiver #2
- Tight End #1
These will also be updated each week to keep you up to speed in a sport where juggling all of the teams can be a challenge.
Defense vs. Position Stats
Knowing matchups are one of the biggest factors in gaining a statistical advantage over your opponents in daily college football. The Defense vs. Position page shows each team’s defensive stats allowed against Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers and Tight Ends. It also includes fantasy point per game allowed averages and overall rankings based on the FPPG-averages.
CFB Cheat Sheet
Based on the defense vs. position tool, the CFB Cheat Sheets will look a lot like the ones used for our NBA daily research console. The top and bottom 15 teams against each position will be shown each week along with their opponent and the top player on their opponent’s depth chart. So for example, here is the Week 1 Running Backs to Target cheat sheet:

Defensive Yardage Allowed
One of DB730’s favorite tools, defensive yardage allowed shows the percentage of games in which a team allowed X passing or rushing yards. There are 2 tiers of rushing and passing yards allowed by defenses:
1) 0-90 RuYd – Strong Performance
2) 130 RuYd+ – Weak Performance
1) 0-200 PaYd – Strong Performance
2) 300+ PaYd – Weak Performance
It also shows each team’s defensive ranks by position along with their average defensive rank as a unit.
Offense vs. Defense
Offense vs. Defense Stats are designed to give you a feel for how each team’s offense matches up with the opposing defense. They are measured by using 50% team offense stats + 50% opponent defense stats allowed.
Their are two types of columns:
- Stat Avg. Per Game – Each stat column shows that stat calculated as: (50% x Offense’s Season Avg. Stat Produced) + (50% x Opponent’s Season Avg. Stat Allowed)
- FPA Stat – Estimated “Fantasy Points Allowed” per game for all Pass, Rush and Reception players on the offense, using above stat calculations
Weekly CFB Top 10’s
Each week the RotoGrinders CFB Experts (DB730, headChopper, AdamMankuta) get together and poll their Overall Top 10 for each of the QB, RB and WR positions. This is a good resource for those newer to CFB to help target the overall top plays for the week, and you can feel safe using any players on this list. CFB Weekly Top 10 is posted Weekly by 2 PM EST.
College Football Vegas Odds
Straightforward enough, College Football Vegas Odds will show the spread for each game, projected score and total points.
Team Stats and Player Advanced Stats
These two pages will be added and updated following Weeks 1 or 2 of the CFB season.
