Maxdalury Leaps to #7: Weekly Rankings Update Jan 13th, 2012

Another week leads to more excitement atop the Grinder Leaderboard. You know what truly makes the achievements of all of those in the top 100 is that these rankings reflect your ability to succeed across multiple sports. And as I had mentioned last week, there was a real opportunity to show that skill with five major sports on most fantasy sites. Golf kicked off and while that is not my personal area of expertise, I’m sure its return brought back a plethora of new and talented players. The college football season finished up and congrats to the Alabama Crimson Tide as well as its fans! NHL keeps rolling along with NBA and the NFL season has come down to its final week of competitive fantasy sports betting.

So as was to be expected, this week was accompanied by plenty of pushes from some great players as well as some serious movement in the top 10. I can’t even get to the recognition part without mentioning the accomplishments of Maxdalury who’s success has pushed him up 7 spots overall on the GLB board to stand at 7th overall in Grinder Nation. All I can really say is wow, as Maxdalury utilized his unbelievable NFL knowledge to win big and jump up the standings. Great job to him. Now we can move forward to the other guys out there killing it and earning their dues in Grinder Nation.

First, let’s welcome the newcomers to the Top 100. The first is not necessarily a newcomer, but he dropped out of the top 100 last week and clearly took it as a point of emphasis to return to the leaderboard. Mbomb44 is back on the board and sits at an impressive 67th overall! Congratulations to Mbomb44 for his great success in this fantasy holiday season. The other two newcomers pushed into 97th and 99th overall. Those guys are Luceca8 and Ursoskinny respectively. Great job to the new players on the board and good luck moving forward. It is often these new additions that are the hot players and can make significant jumps in the coming weeks.

Next, Grinder Nation can stand up and recognize the guys who made serious moves in the top 100 this week. We already mentioned Maxdalury who made an impressive 7 place jump to find himself in the top 10 but there are certainly others who had incredible weeks as well. Shortyb12 jumped 7 spots to #89 overall and is looking to cement himself as a long term competitor in the top 100 as he continues to climb. Shallinan21 moved up 9 spots to #78 overall and if he continues to have the success he did this week we can look forward to talking about him in the top 50 soon enough. Luckbox8 moved up 8 spots this week after jumping 15 spots last week as well so he should be looked at as one of the more dangerous guys out of Grinder Nation right now, great job Luckbox8. The second biggest jump of the week belonged to Shypoker who moved up an incredible 21 spots last week. For those of you who follow the Leaderboard blog, both Luckbox8 and Shypoker received recognition last week for incredible moves upward and they managed to follow it up with another great week, so take notes fantasy players! These guys have a hot formula. But both of them were outstaged by the guy with perhaps the hottest formula right now, and another player mentioned last week. J21willy moved up 29 spots again this week, making him up 50 spots in just two weeks of play. That is nothing short of sensational, so congratulations to J21willy and keep it up!!!

As a final note I would like to again congratulate the top 5 players in the rankings, who saw a bit of a shake up last week yet remained intact in the past seven days. Condia, Rudzia55, Hixvillehunk, Beermakersfan, and KaiserRoll13 represent the top five players on the GLB board respectively and continue to be the cream of the Grinder Nation crop. While all top 100 players have strong formulas to victory, these 5 are the best at what they do right now and serve as seemingly immovable objects. But may that be a challenge to Grinder Nation to keep competing, keep showing your skill, and keep shooting for the top!
