Friday, April 5th
We’ve got an 8-game main slate on tap for tonight with an obvious lack of high end pitching. We also have a few games sprinkled throughout the day with the first Coors Field game of the season as well as two makeups from yesterday. I am thrilled to be able to ignore the opening game in Colorado, as that venue throws everything out of whack. I do not recommend playing on a 3-game slate with a Coors Field game, but if you must, play it sparingly.
The weather looks shaky in Philadelphia tonight, so that will be the main spot to keep an eye on as the day progresses. Let’s jump into this slate and see if we can find any pitching.
Friday Night On The Mound
There are no starters above the $10K threshold on DK or FD and the only pitcher on the slate with a strikeout rate above 27% in 2018 did it as a reliever. However, it’s not as if all these pitchers are bad. There are a couple with upside and a couple that fall into the ‘good in real life’ category. This is what I view as the top tier tonight:
