Thursday, August 16th
Well folks, Happy Thursday, I guess. This is a mess of a seven-game slate tonight with basically no pitching options, and at the same time, not even a lot to love for bats. The silver lining is that nothing is very expensive, so you can play whatever you want to out of the mediocrity.
THURSDAY NIGHT PITCHING
We’ve got no aces, and I’m not going to call this Tier One, because that is being too kind. These are the guys I guess I’ll be using the most of.
THE TWO “BEST”
Clay Buchholz at San Diego – With the matchup in San Diego and some respectable pitching recently, I guess this is my top option tonight. Buchholz has completely average skills this season with a 20.9% K rate and 6.1% walks with neutral batted ball data, and has rode a fortunate BABIP and HR/FB% to a 2.67 ERA. His 4.12 SIERA is more indicative of what to expect, but even that 4.12 would be the 3rd best mark on this nonsense slate.
