We’ve got an ace-less nine game slate on tap tonight. At first glance, things are very evenly spread out with no immediately obvious plays for either pitchers or hitters. This should leave us with a night where ownership is not a big issue, but let’s dig in and see if that opinion changes.
THURSDAY NIGHT PITCHING
There is not a single sure thing on the mound tonight, but a plethora of options with similar skills.
TWO GOOD LEFTIES WITH PLUS MATCHUPS
Tyler Skaggs vs Tampa – Outside of one bad start against the Red Sox, Skaggs has been consistently good this season. He has not allowed more than two runs in any of his other seven starts and has at least seven strikeouts in three straight and a 25% strikeout rate for the year that ranks 3rd on this slate. He has also brought his ground balls up to 52% while maintain strong control with a 7.1% walk rate.
