Tuesday, September 25th

Happy Tuesday! We’ve got a big 14-game slate tonight with a strong group of plays on all sides. We’ve got some aces, we’ve got some gas cans. You can always spread out pretty far if you want on this type of slate, but I’ve been able to narrow my pitching pool to a pretty tight group, and I’ll attempt to do the same with the bats. Let’s jump right in.

Tuesday Night Pitching

THREE ACES LEADING THE WAY

Max Scherzer vs Marlins – There are no signs of a slowdown for Scherzer, with double digit strikeouts in three of his last four starts and a 34.6% K rate since the All-Star Break. This is the final home start of the year for Scherzer, and he’s in the thick of the Cy Young race. There is no reason at all to think that he will be limited here. He is the best pitcher on this slate, one of the best DFS pitchers in the league and he’s in a great home matchup against a low power team that lacks the upside to hurt his fly ball style. The only question here is if you can afford this salary, and at least in cash games, the answer should be yes. There are plenty of other pitchers to consider in tournaments, but this is a don’t overthink it situation. If you can find the salary for Scherzer, just play him in all formats on all sites.
